Duck, Duck, Mongoose.

I have finally settled on my next bike. It's a steel frame Mongoose Creekside. This bikes sole purpose will be speed and R&D. I've had this bike for some time and have already replaced all the bearings with sealed cartridges in the headset and bottom bracket. It had brand new everything as I had just rebuilt the bike before I stumbled upon this motorized bicycle craze.
This bike is going to be the recipient of the Dio Reed Sleeved Stroker Engine I'm building. The Jack shaft kit has been ordered along with another Oko carb. The rear rack is going and the seat is getting lowered and pulled back.
Going get rid of the suspension forks and go with a set of 30" triple trees forks with clip on bars. I'm still undecided about the gas tank but I'm sure I'll think of something and change my mind 10 times long before then. This build isnt in a rush to finish as I still have really never finished the Rambler yet and need to finish up the lighting system I have for it. And im also getting married for the first time in October and I have lots to do before the wedding. I will however keep the build updated as it progresses.

Well I just scored a Nuvinci N360 IGH hub for Ducky today 32h disc brake hub also came with a shimano HB-M529 32H disc brake front hub. Both came on 26" inch rims that are much tho narrow but I paid $100.00 canadian ($70.00 US) for both

Went on a spending spree this week on the bike, jackshaft is on it's way along a Maikuni 21mm pwk for the dio reed intake. This week I ordered another jog scooter pipe, 203mm and 180mm floating rotors, dual pull brake lever and I thought I'd give some YBN halflink chain a try. I also order the billet clutch from darra mfg and some G25 1/8 bearings. Gotta track down a set of wider rims next and figure out how to measure spoke length and build a set of wheels.

I hope you didn't order the cheap dual pull brake lever. I had one of them, and they bend when being pulled, and it broke at the mount.

Well building a wheel set using hubs with part numbers makes life easier.!
Lol good to know, I may just have the bike shop lace them up. But I think wheel building would be a good skill set to learn. I started reading sheldon brown's spoke measuring and wheel building page but it makes my brain hurt lol.

I'll look for the calculator I used. Think it had a database of rims and hubs. Some do. Think 32h can go 4 cross with the spokes.
