Hokey Smokes Bullwinkle, I just bought a Zeda 80!

I pulled the magnet out and the seal came with it. It doesn't look terribly worn, but it won't stay seated in the bore. The bore depth is 5.5mm and the seal is only 3.8mm (really thin). I have an idea that a TC15x27x5mm seal would work well (fairly common size). On the gear side a TC15x27x7mm may work. I haven't pulled the gear off yet to measure the depth of the seal bore on that side. AVX Seals Corp. has these for under 5 bucks (worth a try at that price).

Just a follow up regarding the crank seals. I received a pair of seals from an Amazon seller, and they are better than I had hoped. These are not the same as the original ones in my PK80. These seals had the TC markings, but not the Chinese characters. They seem to be of good quality and fit. I replace the seal under the coil loop, and now the engine runs as it should. I got the Zeda 80 Firestorm kit and mounted it on the frame. I had some trouble with the ignition. I swapped parts from my other engine and finally got spark. There was something funky with the coil. The carburetor in this kit is a little different, but basically the same. The float measured 20mm from the seal lip (good enough). The needle is set pretty rich, but I will leave it for now. After break-in I may adjust the needle to run leaner.

The carby is a new improved carby complete with a rubber seal inside that you will see looking through it to the point where the intake meets the end of the carby.

The c clip on the needle valve is set waaay to rich right off the bat your at the next to the bottom most rich position...I would be setting it at the second notch from the top to start off with right now and not wait till later...DAMIEN

Call bicycle-engines.com about the CDI or coil problem you were having since they are giving you a 6 month warranty on the complete engine kit.
They will replace anything thats faulty.

new improved carby
There are a couple of things I like about this carb. It has a neoprene gasket instead of paper, and the bowl has a spring lever drain instead of a screw (makes it easy to verify there is fuel in the bowl). It does have an included O ring seal in the intake. I had to add one to my other carb.

Now why didn't I think of that :-o . I just ordered a coil from an Amazon seller to replace the one I took out of my other engine. I'm on a quest to find some 1/16th inch neoprene gasket material to soft mount my old PK80 to a Murry frame. Look how well the saddle of the front mount fits the down tube of the frame.

My neoprene 1/16th was given me by my military aircraft maintenence buddies so happy hunting there...lol.

Your angle of motor vs frame looks good from here, fit is good.

Still call bicycle-engine.com to get a free replacement of your coil under warranty to have a spare on hand, you never know...lol...DAMIEN

The Zeda 80 fit nicely onto my Timberline frame. I used the stock mounting hardware. I put a wrap of Flex Tape on the seat tube for the rear mount. I used a piece of pressure hose to pad out the saddle of the front mount to fit the down tube.

If you find that you get any excessive vibration, remove the pressure hose rubber because that will mean its too thick and that will probably be the cause of any excessive vibration, and then really try to find some 1/16th sheets of rubber instead...DAMIEN

A used inner tube works just fine and can be glued to itself to keep it in place.
