3 speed speedster

S&A 3 speeds (no failure prone little chain coming out of it, but a sturdy bellcrank actuator
I've ridden well over 75,000 miles on Sturmey 3- and 5-speeds (the 5-speed has two indicator chain/rods) and have never broken one (maybe 'cause I carry a spare in my tool kit?). I also ride a Shimano 3-speed that is an early version ("Type F") that I have rebuilt several times, and in my opinion is not nearly as bombproof as a Sturmey. Plus, it takes a unique tool (found one one ebay cheap, fortunately) to remove the "ball cup".

Hey Louis.....
how's the 3 speed holding up?

I'd forgotten all about this bike, until Large put his 3 speed, FWD together.

I musta got distracted..... heh.

at 1st, I thought you meant electric starter... but you mean the whole electric convert. do ya plan to run it thru the 3 speed hub?

that 2nd motor has some extra poop!!

those are really decent prices, too..... I bought an aftermarket replacement motor for my Currie kit, about 4 years ago. cost me $200 for a 600 watt.

Yes I'll run it direct to the hub,no jack shaft required.
It will need some sprocket changes, but that's have the fun. louis
