Hey guys! I finished building my Phantom today! It fired right up and I headed down the street but idle was set a bit high so I shut it off and peddled back to my garage. I turned idle down a half turn went down my driveway and pop the clutch. The engine seized and won’t move. I have not taken it apart yet.

I got the engine from B-E off eBay as an open box with no warranty or return policy.

Any suggestions on my next steps?

I know they sell the cylinder kits but they don’t come with gaskets or the needle bearing. I suppose I should really take it apart and see what’s going on.

Do you know what generation the cylinder is? If not, pull the jug and see what happened (and take some pictures of the ports and piston.)
It’s a 3rd generation. I’ll try and get it apart tomorrow and post some pictures.

The cylinder looked really nice. No edges to get caught on or scratches. I was hesitant to buy a return but figured I take a gamble

Got it taken apart! The bottom piston clip broke.

There is a decent gouge in the cylinder wall and bits of the ring stuck at the top. I think I could clean it up but not sure how to proceed from here.
