I've thought about it. It's an awesome idea, but it's not something I am capable of doing right now

Could be a parking light. Bwahahaha
I had a KLR That had a 4 position keyed ignition. 3rd was lock, 4th was just keeping the tail light on. I can only assume for parking on the side of the road at night if broke down. I killed a couple of batteries over that switch not being careful. Crap like that can ruin your day.

I've never heard of that feature. I think your assumption is spot on too as many bikes didn't even have hazards for the longest time.

From the look of the marker light, it seems to be a Standard/Triumph. Maybe a Herald.

There are a lot of these on the interweb. I saw a really cool one made from a 59 caddy with the iconic bullet tail lights, but that was after I posted these.
