Fred Head Questions

@Wrench, I talked to my trainer. He doesn't know if you can buy it like that. He thinks there's a good chance you could. Whenever non-employees need to get into the airport by car to bring luggage to their private jets and stuff like that... we escort them with one of our company vehicles. I don't think they need a key card because to get key cards which we call badges, you have to do SIDA and Movement Area online training to get the badge and the badges are unique to and property of the airport authority. I don't see any people being escorted that have badges. So I'd call your local airport FBO and ask them if you can buy some if you haven't tried that yet.

What will likely happen if they let you do this, is you'll request a fuel order and when you're ready to be escorted, go into the FBO, tell them, go back into your vehicle and pull up to the gate, they will open it for you. An escort vehicle will wait on the other side. They have you park on the ramp somewhere. A fuel truck will pull aside you and fill up your barrel or whatever. And you'll get a fuel slip and you pay. I don't see why they wouldn't let you. Especially during this virus when they aren't getting much fuel orders and losing money.

Don't worry about AV fuel unless you're running 13:1 compression. Good ol' pump premium is going to get you there all day and you don't have to go out of your way to get it. These bikes are for play, not high strung race cars.

Yea I called them, they said I can buy it by the gal but there is a pass code at the gate. They wouldn't give out the pass code. Looks like I gotta make friends with someone who works at French Valley small airport CA.

100 octane is OK for my Whizzer. I have a cast iron cyl with cast iron valve seats I want AV 100 or AV LL100 for the lead content more than I'm after the 100 Octane

I wonder why they don't just put in the pass code for you. We have a badge and a sensor on our lanyards. We just flash the sensor at the panel and the gate opens. We open the gates for people we are escorting. Have you mentioned that to that airport, that you need someone to put in the passcode for you?

I think I'll go down there and talk with someone in charge. Or I'll just follow another car through the gate :ROFLMAO:
They said I can buy it over the phone and they also said over the phone they don't know how I can get past the gate without a code.
The girl on the phone didn't seem to want to help much. She just said if I can get in they will sell me some.
When I use up the 4 gal of premium 91 I just bought a few days ago. I'll go down to the Air Port and try to buy some AV 100

Yeah it sounds like that girl is new and lazy. At my airport, everybody that answers the phone is really polite and will try to help you with anything you need and are really knowledgeable about that stuff. So I agree that you should definitely give it another try. You can push a little too but POLITELY to get them to figure it out for you if you get another person on the phone who isn't very enthusiastic. Some people are just lazy. Definitely ask if you can get someone to come out and put in the passcode for you if they say the same thing again.
