Just got my new gas cap. It feels like it could be a little tighter but I will find out today when I put gas in it and try it out.

Just got my new gas cap. It feels like it could be a little tighter but I will find out today when I put gas in it and try it out.

They are not as tight to the feel as the OEM caps, but that's because of the rubber gasket is a different, more gas resistant rubber and not installed onto the cap in such a way as to rip and tear itself apart like the original one.

Put some gas in it about 3/4 or more full went for a ride and it was fine. Thanks again for the information on what gas cap to get! Yes the rubber gasket is a lot better than the OEM. The OEM gasket looks like it was made out of the same stuff they make the rag joint out of lol!

Best way to seal fill cap

The fill cap on these gas tanks are crap. I refilled my bike carefully without getting gas on the paint, but when I took it for a ride gas leaked over it, destroying my paint. No big deal I can repaint it, and I have gas resistant clear coat this time. I'm pretty POd this happend and I don't...
