Good Workshops Around Chicago?

Where may I take classes that I may gain access and experience with things like welders and sand blasting machines?

I want to build a prone bike frame from the ground up and was thinking a good place to start would be at a workshop of some sort -- be it some metallurgical institute or a technical institute.

Pretty much and county college or technical school has classes in welding and such.

A very good return on the small investment for a lifetime of knowledge!
