go with a piece of thick rubber,radiator hose sounds great but any will do and tighten it good.

Hi Pickled, I've used old copper water pipe lying around works well for any shime I have needed. 1 inch stuff easy to work with. Natural antique look. I have also used velcro the furry side for the lack of a proper description, Can purchase fairly cheap and will stay in place while you work it. good luck with your motor mount

i used the old rubber grips from my bike because my kit cam with new grips.
i cut them up and placed them between my mounts and my frame and bingo less vibrations.
