My Basic MAB

Here is my basic motor assisted bike. Not too pretty, but pretty functional. It's about 98% done which means there will always something else to tweak or add on. Hope the uploads work OK...

I am building a similar bike to yours. How would I go about wiring one of those tach/hour meters onto this type of bike? ANy info is appreciated. Thanks! :)

Tach/hour meter

Hi Chuck,

There are two wires. The black wire connects to the engine (ground). The red one is wrapped around the plug wire 3 or 4 times. That's it. The meter has a self contained battery that lasts about 8 years. It's sealed with epoxy so it's vibration and weather resistant. It's very easy to over rev this engine because it pulls the stock gearing well past the 7500 rpm red line with no trouble. I might go to a 44 tooth sprocket after the break-in.

Good luck with your new kit..
