My new off-road motored bike

This is my new motored bike, it's almost done, there are some minor details to end or fix, like finish the lighting system, or some fine tuning of the carb, but it's working fine for now.
The bike it's a standard 26 double suspension bike, the only modification to the bike was the fork, and the disk brake in front. The engine it's an argentinan engine brand da-dalt, which is a copy of a Motori Morini Italian moped engine. This engine has 50cc of displacement, reed valve admission, and a very thick aluminum crankcase, very robust with very very big bearings, it's almost indestructible, that's why i choose it ;). It has also an Dell'Orto SHA1412 carb, a CDI ignition and lighting coil (both separated circuits) with a ducati magneto, a steel/aluminum cylinder (painted with high temperature black spray paint), and a custom made exhaust (which I want to change soon because it's not the best in terms of power output).
The gear ratio was chosen for high torque, not final speed, so this bike climbs almost everything, and burn tires like nothing. It's very fun to ride because has very nice acceleration, and the engine has vibrations only at very high revs.
Here there are some pics, hope you enjoy this "rare bug" :p

Most of the off-road motorized bikes I see don't look very durable. Yours looks cool and durable. Good job.

Thanks, indeed, it's been a year almost since I build my ""trial bike", I keep punishing this poor machine, and work better every day. I do no maintenance other than chain lube and some loose bolt. I love my little "Frankenstein"

I like that quality -- big THING motor

Mountainman, I must say, It's the funniest thing I ever ride

I think the engine still in production, but I do not know for long

unfortunately Chinese four strokes (70 to 110cc) are taking over the market

and it's really impossible to compete with their prices

I like that quality -- big THING motor
a sweet set up
and with your deliveries -- speed and reliability -- a must...

have fun down there -- on that MB THING

Have you built others, Funker?

Yep. I build another two motored bikes, but using Chineses engines, one with centrifugal and one with manual clutch (starfire GENII), both 48cc. None of them as fun , faster and stable as the one showed in this post. The advantage of the Chinese engine, it's his simplicity, fast start, and low end torke. I love all my bikes, each one of them has his purpose.

Jejej the engine may look big, but it's really only 49cc (I like to stand below the 50cc, as a philosophy for my MBs). The thing is, that engine is designed to move a 40kg motorcycle, not 15kg bicycle. This engine, from factory, it's rated at 5HP, a lot for 49cc, a really efficient design with reed valve intake, a extra "booster" transfer, a higher compression ratio (10:1), all bearings, and probably more things that I don't remember right now :p

Thanks Seanhan ;)

The engine it's made here in Argentina, It's a exact copy of the morini M1 (under license). I bought mine online in MercadoLibre (=Ebay), of course the engine was unusable , but for about u$s30, you can't expect a brand new engine. There are not junk yards in Argentina, at least not in the way of the US (unfortunately :().
The Honda Express engine it's a really nice engine to build a MB, it's light, and powerful, if I remember correctly, has reed valve too, I saw one MB built with that engine.

I live in Argentina, so I don't know how much reference I could give you, but I paid that fork u$s32, It's chinese made so I think you could find some similar in your country.
Jusk ask if I could help you further.
