I live in Panama City Beach, Florida and have been driving my bike for about two years. We have the city police, county police and state troopers pass me all the time and none of them have ever pulled me over or gave me a hard time.
I honestly don't know what the local laws are (if any) pertaining to motorized bicycles.
I do drive in the bicycle lanes where that are available and there are a lot of moped rental places on the beach, maybe I just blend in with them.
