I bought a couple of Cruzzer kits a while back, the 2014 edition. I like the bike I built and I plan to put another kit together. The engine pulls ok and the clutch, after it was reworked, works well. I'd like to get a little more out of the engine - a little more grunt to get my 220 lbs going. Can anyone suggest upgrades to the 2014 engine? Also, has anyone welded an o2 bung on a Whizzer pipe to tune the carb with an air/fuel gauge?

Can we get some pictures?

To get some more GRUNT for your 220 lbs Shave .100" off the head deck, I shave .135" off mine
Ya see the Cruzzer/Ambassador head combustion chamber is .465" deep Valve lift (off cyl deck) is .250"

I use a belt sander with 80 then 120 grit to take the majority of the meet off

I finish with 220 grit on plate glass to get it perfectly flat

New Copper Head Gasket
Lap valves check for good seal - valve job if necessary
Valve lash IN-.008" EX .010"

Since you got a Cruzzer Flywheel 17* maybe @mason_man will chime in and explain how to move the trigger plate 23*
I have the Whizzer cast iron flywheel and moving the trigger plate is a different process

Yeah she'll go 50mph, I've had my Whizzer since 2005 and she now has over 41K miles on her (y)

Nope
Check the muffler Baffle to see if it's got a spark arrestor plate (tab) on it, If it does cut it off (tab) it hurts performance

Look at the pic, the spark arrestor plate is on the opposite side as the mounting screw, (you can just see it a little bit in the pic)
This baffle helps performance so don't leave it out, ya need it,
If the gold foil is ripped use muffler tape and re wrap it (careful not too tight)
