Weed Eater mini bike questions

they can rev alot more than that if you want it too! basicly double we have guys around here that make 8-12 hp at 14-16 thousand rpm but then they dont last long like that lol!

Thank you for further explaining that for me ! (Ps. I accidentally punched in 6 instead of 7 , giving me the 7.7:1 ratio)
But I think the tire might even be smaller, 8" possibly. I think I'm going to go with something a bit bigger than 10" tho, to get better low end since most roads we have around are gravel. I'll be putting some dirt tires on there.
8000RPM is the max for the 49cc pocket bike engines? I am surprised they rev that high

I believe pb engines rev much higher than 8K. I was being conservative. PB engines put out a LOT of power for your toy bikes. Weedwhackers produce less than 1 hp; pb engines more than 3hp.

The smaller the wheel diameter, the better the low end.

I don't think you should consider using pb engines. Too much power on a short wheelbased toy on the road is very unsafe. Stick to weedwhacker engines, or that engine I suggested. The 6t sprocket should bolt onto the Tanaka centrifugal clutch drum. Gear this toy for super low speed.

I might of been getting some things confused, I'll be doing the weed eater project first and foremost as I just need to have this trimmer micro bike.! That's my novelty project :) the other 2-3 kids/toddler size bikes will be getting the PB engine :) besides the micro micro bike, I want my 250lb stepdad to be able to ride one of these atleast lol. The toy is more for fun and will be a quick project. I'm getting bits together for the first PB build tho. I'll repost all my findings and info :)
Low gearing :D check! All this chain gearing is different to me... I'm used to gears and variators on a scooter, but I'm catching on... thanks guys!!

I have loved bikes of all types my whole life and my youngest is the same,Since he was 5 y/o he's been on a pocket dirt bike it's well suited to a 5 y/o but thats it! my nephue a few years back but a full grown adult 175-180 lbs just going fast thru a dip in the terain snapped the cross member thats holds the top of the mono so called shock clean of the frame when I went to fix it the square tube used had a wall thikness of I swear two peices of paper so I welded the mount to some square tube that had about an 1/8" thickness and that has held up well!you can see it in the pics It's the blue 2010 daymack 49cc he loves this bike even still this even when he saw that I had it out he wanted to go for a rip Lol no joke!I had already been doing repairs for these, scooters,mb's and anything with a small motor at that time and I picked up this wasp 49cc this pocket dirt bike was unlike any I had or have ever seen the frame is thick wall good dia steel the wheels are steel It has old drum brakes that just never seem to fail it has a real mono shock that holds my weight no issues and has a three gear gear reduction case that has worked perfectly for many years now and still does power wheelies all day again even with me on it!I will post a video of some wheelies and you will hear the throttle response it's crazy!netheir one has any after market parts or any thing just jetted and set up well for what they are just for fun!

Yeah, be been sitting here for 2 days drawing out some sort of plan for all these frames. I don't want my stepdad or anyone else to get hurt, because when they do it won't be so nice. Everything is hard rocky gravel here in the mountains lol!
So either I am going to pickup 3-4 of these 20' - 26' or so bicycle frames FREE. And do some sawing , grinding and welding/bit of braze....
OORR ... I am going to completely fab out a new frame. So time, effort, precision and finding the metal....
I'm leaning towards the first option, since I think even with a bicycle frame I'll be able to mount a brace or 2 , to keep everything holding up better.

How long do you think the clutches on those tanaka will hold up?
Again, my small engines (22-30cc) builds will be on the 15:1 ratio MINI MINI MICRO bike. Should I buy a spare clutches incase? Lol. It'll mostly be ridden by 50lb-150lb riders ,but guaranteed stepdad will be all over it. He's 250 or so. All terrains will be dirt and gravel...
