I'm planning on putting 3 spoke mag wheels on a 26" hyper with the phantom 85.

DAMIEN uses 1.75" BELL tires that are $40 apiece https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/15188807

Is it worth spending $80 on a set of tires, or should i just purchase from a different brand for much cheaper? I would like thicker tires, Bikeberry says their 3 spoke Mag wheels are compatible with "26” x 1.5” – 26” x1.95” tires".

Is it possible to use thicker tires like 2.125"?
Will maxing out my tire width at 1.95" cause clearance issues with the chain(s) on the hyper?

Why not run the factory tires from the hyper 'till you need new ones? That's my plan lol

Bell with Kevlar is puncture resistant tires and worth the extra money because it's also a high mileage tire
But you don't have to buy this tire if you don't want to

If ya read the box that tire fits wheel sizes 1.75 - 2.25
So yeah, these tires will fit the Mags from BikeBerry

"Specifications:

Size: 26" x 1”, 3x Spoke, Axle Width: 7.5"

Color: Red, Black, White, Grey

Tire Compatibility: 26” x 1.5” – 26” x1.95” tires with Schrader valves

Brake Compatibility: Disc Brake Only

Bicycle Engine Sprocket Size: 36 Tooth"

But according to bikeberry the mag wheels do not fit 1.95"+ tires

So it seems like I can not use larger 2.25" tires

Where did you get those numbers from?

I hear the phantom is too powerful for Caliper brakes, I want disc brakes

Plus, I'd rather assemble it all at once, I hate adjusting the sprocket
How did you get disc brakes on your Hyper stock wheels?
They aren't stock wheels. I ordered them off Amazon. I was more of talking the tires, not the wheels.

Read the sizes on the Bell tire box 1.75 - 2.25

My 2 cents on tires. $40 seems expensive, but if you wear out 4 $20 tires before the $40 tire, did you really save? I have continental tires that are basically constructed like a light motorcycle tire meant for ebike use with a high speed rating. They are not cheap, but worth every penny.
