Hey there...:) So we're going to do this one properly..!

Originally, I was going to go with a dedicated board track racer, but this idea became a little too cost prohibitive. With the frames at around $350 USD, that would be almost $500 by the time it got to Oz. And that's not even with the tank. In reality I was probably looking at around $1k AUD just in the frame..!So what I've decided on now is a hybrid street/board track. GT-5 frame with double springer front end, board track style bars and seat set up. Best of both worlds..!

The idea is to have quality parts and running gear throughout, sourced from both bike and motorcycle brands. This thing will be fast so it has to be safe as well - plus it's not exactly legal to be riding these things on the street where I come from. It will be built around a Fred's Superhammer that I got customised with a 6cc decomp head, 17mm Delorto style PHBG carb, and RM80 exhaust. I live in a flat coastal area at sea level, so it will be turning a 30 or 32T sprocket - see how we go. Thinking of a dark frame colour (gunmetal grey??) that will be offset with anodised gold running gear and parts.

Anyway, here's a list of parts and specs with some photos of goodies I've been sourcing for a few months now. The frame is still around 2 weeks away but the hold up will be the forks. Anyone know where else apart from Bicycle Designer I can source Cuda Double Springer forks from..??!

Cheers
Crisco:)

Jut grab some sealed headset bearings..??

I thought of doing that. Down side is I already installed the supplied bearing cups in the headset and really don't want to remove them. When it comes time to assembly I am going to see if installing the plastic washer piece down first and pressing the springer assembly down on that if it would provide a weather seal. If not I will just run the cone under the springer which really wouldn't look bad. Just think the cone would transition to the stem a lot better than having it go from spring plate to the stem.

That is what is known as a lawsuit. Sue them until one of them changes dye lots!

I'll tell you what... For the price you pay for Jagwire you would expect that their "braided golds" would match..!

That's the whole reason I bought them..! (and secondly for the fact that I want quality cabling that will not fail on me when hooking into an intersection @ 70km/h..!)

Ok ok... maybe I didn't just buy them for the pretty colours then...;)

So with these horizontal dropout frames it should be nice and easy to get your chain tension set.

Had ordered some nice wanky star shaped chain tugs to do the trick, but because they're made for solid axles they need an adaptor for for my QR skewer axles.
Handy mate with his lathe sorted me out;)

Looks good. look forward to see how your forks end up. Mine ended up at the full extreme downward extension. Nothing I can do to correct that other than getting rid of the one piece VO stem I bought and go with a version without the built in spacer and install the correct spacer under the fork assembly.

Well guess there is no option for me to resolve this. VO doesn't make a stem in black other than the one I have. So I guess I will just have to live with the springs being compressed to the point where they might not add no suspension.
