Just weld a little piece of steel right below the desired location to keep them from sliding.

Mark the bottom of the location where you want the shock mount, weld a small piece of metal just below your mark. Then put the shock back. The piece of metal will stop it from sliding down.

If you don't have a welder I'm sure that drilling a hole for a large sheet metal screw would do the same thing. I did that on my seat post when the clamp wouldn't hold any longer.

Welding means repainting. You could get a U bolt cable clamp. To mount below the other clamp.

Tap thru both sides? I weigh 250 lbs so I’m worried it would make it weak.

I think I’m gonna try a set of those first. Going to get them tomorrow. I’ll let everyone know how it works.

Think drilling a small screw thru the top of my clamp and thru the bottom would weaken the frame too much?

I was thinking of putting the screw under the clamp not thru it
The head of the screw would be a bump stop

But if you think it will weaken the frame then don't do it

I’m not sure if it’ll weaken the frame tho
