I switched back to the stock chain tensioner with a new roller, and I think I got it too tight and it shot the master link. The worse part is I'm fresh out of master links. Looks like I'm walking to work tomorrow.

Use the chain from a garage door opener ( which will never break), and upgrade to a spring tensioner

I'm a diehard advocate of no tensioners whatsoever like with my bikes I have built...lol.

You really should try very hard again to do it my way with no tensioner...lol.

With track fork ends it is easier than with the semi horizontal drop outs on beach cruisers.

Mine was easier than all get out...lol...It was zero hassle and everything worked correctly on first try, nothing hard about it whatsoever, at least for me...lol.
