OK I guess it wasn't quite a "duh", but I still felt stupid...
I came to a very abrupt stop coming out of a parking lot-- I lost my balance, and tipped over! And broke my clutch lever! (the stock ones ARE just plastic...)
I laughed all the way down to the ground, sustained no injuries to myself, and limped my bike home (the broken clutch lever made it tricky but not impossible to ride)
I think I've got a metal brake lever around here somewhere... I hope... it won't lock like the stock clutch levers, but I am bidding on a locking brake/clutch lever on eBay already because it has a brake light switch. Ironically, I bid on it before I broke the one I have, so I guess the universe has spoken or something...
