So I would like to know if you were going to spend $1,000 building a motorized bike. What would the build consist of?
Motor/size/frame/wheels/carb..ect

The Schwinn Sidewinder I'm currently building has a Staton Inc inside drive 18.75:1 gearbox the engine is a Robin Subaru 35, Staton Inc triple chainring shift kit, front and rear daylight visible signal lights, daylight visible brakelight, headlight, taillight, alarm, tracker, pedestrian bell, refillable loud air horn, cellphone holder, supply battery, side basket, lockable ammo box, side basket, trailer hitch, bicycle computer, tachometer/hour counter, mirrors, front and rear disc brakes, Kendra 838 tires, green wheel reflectors, green cable housings, rattlesnake decals.

Wait I've done spent more than a $1000 lol

I would start with a classic bike that is pre 70. A cruiser, like the Schwinns, a Montgomery Wards, Sears, Western Auto etc., models. 4 stroke engine, an old Briggs and Stratton, Clinton or Tecumseh motor, using an idler arm style clutch. Convert both front and back wheels to Sturmey Archer drum brakes using 19" dirt bike motorcycle rims for my wheels. A Brooks knock off leather saddle. Build a gas tank that fits the bike, none of those Chinese peanuts. I have spent more than the $1000. But I would keep adding.
