mx5 asama bicycle

i doubt most wont be interested in this but there is quite a few of these motors for pretty cheap,700c rims and i have rebuilt the whole bike and motor drivetrain.quite a job getting this to run good but its quiet light and seems to propel the bike with great ease.plus my street beast, legal bicycle,43cc mitsu.norco frame.

I bought 5 MX-5's some years ago. They were a neat bicycle engine and they have a drive system like the modern japanese scooter. Pulleys open and close to change the drive ratio. Under the coweling is a fan for cooling. When riding, be careful not to block the side fan intake with your leg or you will block the cooling airflow and the engine will overheat and probably seize. I had that hapen to me a couple times.

I put many miles on bikes using the mx-5 and tire wear with the friction drive was very little. Wet streets - park it.

Frank at Seven Flags was a big dealer for the MX-5 but they are no more. Was sorry to see them discontinued and if you do find one, there are no parts available as far as I know. I checked all over when I had my last motor with no luck. Saw one for sale about a year ago on EBay

Well, have with it.
