I can't seem to find treaded road tires in the 26 x 2.1" --all are knobbies.

The slicks and road/treaded tires all seem to be 26 x 2.125"

    Can I use 26 x 2.125"

Its only .025 difference, less than 1/32 of an inch. Shouldn't be a problem.

The new all black ones are supposidly of mixed quality, manufactured in India.

The old tan and black ones are really good, they are manufactured in Germany, but finding good old stock is the problem.

Slicks I don't know any cheap examples right off, but Cheng Shin has some road tread tires for about $10 or so. They're listed on Amazon, from Niagra Cycle Works (I think).

Also on Amazon look for Kenda and Pyramid brand tires too.

Just be sure to buy a tire that the width is given in a decimal format, not a fractional format--the fractionals are the wrong diameter for a standard MTB rim.

Innova Swiftor's in the 26x2.0 are decent. And, only 1/8 inch narrower than the 2.125.

MTB Freestyle (Urban Freeride) tires should work great for MBs. They are built tough and have fast rolling tread patterns. I use Kenda K-Rad 26x1.95 tires and have launched off 6' high walls to flat landings with no problems, so they should handle a regular MB rider no problem.

Here's a list of good tires:
    Arrow Launch
    DMR Moto R/T or Transition
    Kenda K-Rad or Kiniption
    Halo Twin Rail
    Maxxis Holy Roller or Hookworm
    Panaracer Uff Da!
Schwalbe Table Top or Big Apple
    Specialized Rhythm or Compound
    Tioga FS100

Good luck with that. I ordered those exact tires from Niagara on Friday, June 27th. On Tuesday, July 15th I received the following comment in an e mail:

"Please be advised that the Cheng Shin C1218 Street Tire are out of stock. We do not know when we will be able to get them. Do you want us to fill the rest of the order? Please advise."

Having already waited over two weeks without having the product ship, I cancelled the order and bought those tires from a competitor who had them in stock. Perhaps they are in stock again and you will not have to wait...
