In TN the law states that the motor must not "require" the operator to shift gears. So if it is an automatic tranny there is no problem with the law. This is also the case with the federal laws concerning motored bikes.
That's the law, and that is as much as I care about it. If your tranny is affordable I would buy it in a heartbeat.
