Hey all! I'm new to the forums and the custom bike world alike so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I am also aware that bicycles are two wheelers and I am asking about a three wheeled cycle. Hope that is okay.
As a summer project, I would like to build a motorized Schwinn Meridian Tricycle using a Predator 212 engine. I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find any tutorials on how to build a motorized tricycle using a Predator 212. I was wondering if you guys answer the following:
1) Have you ever built a motorized tricycle? If so, how did it work out?
2) Is the 212 too powerful of an engine to put on the tricycle? I plan to load up the tricycle with myself and maybe 20-30 extra pounds (Total 150-160 lbs) whenever I ride in it and I do have some pretty steep hills to conquer. I just do not want to replace the tires too often or overload the tricycle with power.
3) What is the diameter of the rear wheel axle?
4) Do I have all the right parts? Anything I should take away or add?
Predator 212 Engine: $122.85

60T Drive Wheel Sprocket 420P: $19.95 (For the sprocket, I'm not sure if I need a sprocket hub or not.)
