GX50 Bogging/Dying

Okay well, I've taken the air filter out and tried that. Disconnected kill switch, checked the fuel filter in tank, etc. Everything seems to be in order. Removed the plate behind the air filter to check the choke lever was working properly, it is. So not sure where to go from here. Pull carb?

Seems only thing left is to drain the old gas out and start w/a fresh tank, maybe you have some bad fuel. The plug will tell you a lot about what's going on.

Okay it's a new day, and trying at this again. For s**ts and giggles I shortened the fuel lines because they had some extra slack, and pulled the bends out of the line and tried to start and see if the issue was fixed, it wasn't.

So I emptied the tank, went ahead and changed the oil out, does the fuel filter look okay? I was thinking about trying to run without the filter just to see if maybe it's causing restrictions? I'm going to get a new gallon of gas and try that when I refill as well.

I think I finally got it running back to normal. After today's repairs of oil change, cutting fuel line, and putting in new gas, it seems to not bog down now. Think it was bad gas! Of course it's raining here in FL now, every damn day with the rain! Literally rained every day this month. Will go for a test ride tomorrow before the afternoon showers.

Glad you got it running again. Yup, most likely bad gas.
Where are you, North, Central, South Florida?
Jacksonville. And I wanted to thank you all again for the quick responses and knowledge. 😍 😘

Sweet, I'm from Jacksonville. Live in California now though.
Wanna have some fun with your bike? Take it down to the 103rd Street Sports Complex, it's free to use when there are no races. It's a very fun track that I grew up using since I was 4.

For the love of God do not miss the 103rd st exit, or you will be doing a scenic loop to Orange Park and back.
Edit: looks like they added 2 exits before you reach Orange Park since I lived there, but it's still a few miles out of your way if you miss 103rd.

WOW, what a track. Spend all weekend there and have some fun.

My guess is you had a jug of 2 stroke gas lying around and used that w/o realizing it. Fess up is that it? We won't think any less of ya, none of us walk on water.
