Frame Painted

Update

Few happy snaps of the freshly painted frame ;-)

http://members.ii.net/~aussiejester/index/pictures/Frame Painted Series Pics 1.jpg[

I have gone with Matt Black acrylic paint..

The frame has been rubbed down with ~600 grit paper...
blasted with 2 costs of etch primer then a layer of primer
filler before a sand with 800 grit wet and dry and 4 coats
of Matt Black paint. Have let it dry in the sun for a few
days and have just begun assembling today :) Hopefully
should withstand a few knocks, at least will 'neatin' the trike
up a lil, i haven't gone to great measures with the prep
work suffice to say it looks pretty tidy :)

Shall report back again shortly folkz...

Lookin' good there Jester. I have a great appreciation for people who can get into that much detail. I don't have the patience for it myself.

Well...I have my worklog on this site but it should of been in this section appologies, i thought i would
continue it here never the less...the previous posts can be
viewed here

Sorry, but i can't be assed transferring 30 odd pages of the worklog over to this thread again so apologies tin advance...

If an admin is able to copy the worklog in its entirety to
this thread simply/quickly i would be appreciative?

Update

I feel I have made some more 'picture worthy' progress the last few days.

Deciding AGAINST a 'Scotchbright' finish for the forks (unfortunately AFTER 2 hours of sanding grrr)
IMO the forks were simply too far gone in terms of deep scratches and wouldn't have 'made the grade' SO..
'Rat black' erm..thats 'Gangsta 8) Black' for the forks also hehehe

...as always few pics of the progress...

As with the rest of the frame, it has been sanded, hit with two coats of etch primer one of primer filler
and 4 coats of Acrylic Matt Black...Hence forth to be known as "Gangsta Black" hahaha

Few 'mods/additions/upgrades' to the springers, those with a VERY keen eye may have already noticed?
there has been an addition to the top plate. Previously i had the two aluminum 'disks' under
the bottom fork clamp only, this was NOT attached to the top plate, i have now cut two steel disks and
welded them too the top plate allowing the forks too be tensioned down with the clamp bolt, previously
there was ALOT of movement NOW it is rock solid no movement/flex AT ALL.

Also more noticeable, the two 'small tubes' on the springer tube, these are tooo run the two
front brake cables through instead of using cable ties :)

Not alot left too do at this stage...brakes calipers to be bolted back on and connected, batteries
box to be knocked up along with rear tray...more soon folks :)

Thanks mate :) hopefully i will be so lucky tooLoL

ROFL your joking right? 49cc ICE motor quicker than 1000watt electric HAHA...your in dreamland im afraid buddy ;-) Have already had a run against my brothers 49cc Gina Gurl jackshaft (shift kit) setup...was ~400meter run all uphil he was at least 80 meters behind at the end of the run..I was only using first gear :p Electric has INSTANT torque the only trouble i have getting off the line quickly is the rear wheel spining, here at motoredbikes people dont seem to realize how much quicker and how much more torque electrics have over the small ICE motors, only downside is the batteries to travel the distance are extremely expensive, that isnt an issue for me my longest commute is under 10km round trip i could do that twice on one charge if i took it 'easy' or once traveling top speed...suits me to a tea :: wink :: That all said, a hybrid too CHEAPILY increase distance would be viable...i guess, would slow the whole trike down with added weight, you would use the electric for take offs and coming into carparks etc and the ice for when your cruising at top speed...TBH i have toyed with it but with the new RC brushless motors appearing in electric bicycle scene i simply can not, NOT build a tilting delta with two of these power house motors on the rear wheels, one motor has 4 times the power of the one i have now at 1/4 the weight and 1/4 the size ... simply AMAZING motors...more on that build in months to come ;-)

whoops, sorry the wrong use of LAGGING, probably Stamina would have been a better choice, dont worry i know all about the power of the electric motors!!!!!, i just meant running out juice on those nice 20+ mile rides although the Gangsta sounds like it will meet your need nicely,

I love the electrics like you said have experimented with many and the instant torque WOW !!!!! but i cant afford the NICE batteries yet and until they become affordable i just have to stick with my little put .puttt

We have a local mountain area near buy, perfect in the summer to escape the summer heat, however been in the mountain some pretty steep up and downs 20 miles round trip, beautiful drive but my poor little 24volt 350 watt never stood a chance....

PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGIES AND THAT 1000 WATTS (WHAT A BRUTTT) i feel sorry for those batteries!!!!!
