E-Trike Cruiser 1000wat 48ah

HAHA no worries Vegaspaddy ;-) And yeah the batteries get quite the caining pulling 120amps from SLAs sees them
drained raaaather quickly but **** its fun hehehe...If i took it slowly i would get 20km range not a problem, but the
urge to screw the throttle and stretch the arms as you fly quickly along in total silence is just toooo **** tempting
ooooh for a niiiice stack of Lipos piled into the battery box hehehe next trike will have them...I have 4 new 12v 18ah
SLAs to go into what i am now making--->

Update

Full custom plywood & aluminum battery box got underway today unfortunately i didn't get it completed as
i wished, had a few mates drop by throughout the day "interupting me" LoL ...anywayz, i have a few
pics of the progress thus far, pretty self explanatory i think-->

As can be seen fair whack of the work is done, all panels cut and the bottom aluminum angle in place,
the bottom of the battery box has also been mounted on the jarrah wooden 'mounts'.

I was looking at it after i set it in the trike for the final pic and got thinking it probably wouldnt
look too bad with a nice wood stain and varnish on it, i had planned to paint the plywood
"Gangsta Black" and scotch bright the ali (probably still will TBH) but i can see how neat
the wood could look....anyhoot...more around this time tomorrow, i would bloody well hope
it will be running this time tomorrow too :: sigh ::

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLAVIO MAAAAN!!! Rare Occasion he
actually AGREED to having his pic taken!!

http://members.ii.net/~aussiejester/index/pictures/Battery_box_complete_pic_3.jpg

I shall do my best to get the trike up and running tomorrow
lads, has taken me a day longer than anticipated to get this
battery box done, i am VERY happy with how its turned out
i must say but faaark me what a struggle, every one of the
88 screws was individually cut so as not to protrude through
the ply as well as being glued in place to assure they wont
come loose...

Back soon with HEAPS of CLOSE UP pics of final install guyz OH so
bloody close but STILL no cigar...off for a night cap and the
last few slices of Pizza...

Not your fault....this trike section is Brand New!!

your project would NOT be out of place in the electric section, either.

That trike is awesome.

Your trike is lookin' good Jester. Hope you get 'er on the road today. I'll be looking for another vid.

Well.. wont be 'today' is actually 10-45PM here in OZ so be 'tomorrow' :: wink :: everything going well i seee no reason why it wont be running by lunch time, i already have all the wiring laid out and cable sleeved just need to make 4 soldered connections pop the lid on whack on the chain and we is YEEEEHA... unfortunately there wont be a video of the trike 'in action' till the weekend when i can get the lads assistance, i do however plan to do a video commentary over view of the trike explaining everything thats been done, why and where it came from etc... appreciate the comments/interest

I undestand the hassel getting someone to take the video. Oh well. Enjoy the ride.

Electrics Complete Trike is GO GO GO

Update

Will be near last update for this worklog, i completed the wiring today the trike
now has power, as always pics of the work done today-->

All i have to do now is fit the chain and adjust the "Deore rapid fire shifter"

Wiring has turned out well i think, I had contemplated placing
the controller inside the box but decided aginst this as in future
the box will contain Lipos that will produce a bit more heat
the controller will be better cooled by the passing breeze where it is now
I also like the look of it PLUS it's easy access to the port to plug him
into the PC to adjust speed controller preferences :)

I obviously still have the tray to fab, but i will leave this for a week or so
going to relax a lil first and enjoy having a blat on the trike hehee
I have "bullet Hole" decals to pop randomly on the trike, wont go overboard
I think it will add to the whole "Gangsta/Rat-Look"

I shall be doing a video overview of the trike along with a run
over 100 meters (from stand still)

BIG thanks to the fellas that have been here following this build from the start
I very much appreciate the input/interest, keeps one motivated to push on
when not in the mood, its also good feeling to know others are as interested inthe project as I am :)

Shall be back in coming weeks with a couple of shots with the tray fitted and links for vids, shall also
post a link to new worklog when work commences
on V3 tilting trike :) For now though THAT'S IT folks..

Cheers again fellas
