I have only seen one bent seat post from firebelly and it has a cross brace. Is there a bent seat post that does not have the cross brace? If so....are they any good?......or do then bend/brake?

I use one with not support brace and I've had good results. The one I'm using now is many years old. I've pedalled a lot with it. I've also been using it on my MBs, where it gets more of a workout since I practically never stand up on the pedals. I weigh about 175 lbs. Not real heavy, but not really light either.

I suppose one that was made out of a very low grade, soft steel might not stand up to much use. But I have no idea how to separate the sheep from the goats.

just about any bike shop should be able to get you a set-back post
the ones with the support bar tend to be a farther set-back than the simple 1-bend ones

Ya I been occasionally searching for this too. One of the sites carrying the bent one and the one with the welded stay suggested the one with the stay. They had problems with the other one bending. There's a guy up in the vendor area making one that clamps to a standard seat post with a 4"-6" set back out of 1/4" steel. If you find a really good one, please post it.

Ive seen them at Spooky Tooth. Also, here's another ive used.

I had a Spooky Tooth bent back seatpost that I traded for some parts with one of my customers and it bent like a piece of spaghetti

I just bought a much nicer one from my local hole in the wall bicycle store
that also has the brace so I am going to put it through my usual torture
testing routine....:devilish:
