Riding MBs - Necessity or Therapy ?

In a way fixing the bike or motor if somthings wrong a kind of0 therapy because you do it yourself you dont pay some small engine mechanic an arm and a leg to do it or a bike shop to do it YOU DO IT yourself (unless absolutly necessary and I know I get self achievment if I fix somthing thats wrong with my engine or bike.

Ride That Thing.

If you wish to read one of the best expositions of the benefits of motorized cycles, read Robert Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The book is about life, reality, and how our choices influence our perceptions more powerfully than our perceptions influence our choices.

We can choose to be happy, to be content. What we choose determines what we see.

as I call it -- counting one's blessings

it sounds so simple
but - it's so true SS

some of my best moments (grateful moments)
are while riding
good time to clear the mind
remembering in life -- what's truly most important
as we are getting in touch and seeing much
as I call it -- counting one's blessings

have a nice Christmas -- from Mountainman

Hidden Blessings

Amen Mountainman. Fine thread. I don't even have a MB yet but I can say it's already been good therapy just thinking of building and riding a MB.

"... whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things."
Philippians 4:8

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

MB's are Therapy and a Necessity. When my Wife tells me to go and ride my bike, she knows I need it. I have the Whizzer at work and at lunch when things are not going well I get the bike out, and depending on the level of stress I run it with or without the baffle. I start out doing figure 8's in the large parking lot usually going fast at first and using the compression release to slow down, I do that with the baffle out it blows fire out the exhaust with a lot of popping and bangs, it doesn't take long and all my stress is gone. A simple bike with the sound of a well oiled machine propelling you along and the stress just melts away. And if you are lucky someone is walking the sidewalk and as you go by you let her blast one of those loud bangs (Oh what Fun). Have fun, Dave

PS: Merry Christmas
